Essay Contest

The topic for the 2018 – 2019 Optimist year is
“When All the World’s Problems are Solved, is Optimism Still Necessary?”

The deadline for Clubs to submit their winning essay to the MWO District Chair is February 28, 2019. The deadline for the District to submit their winner’s information to Optimist International is April 15, 2019.
This contest guidelines require that contestants be under age 19 as of December 31 of the current school year. District winners are entered into the International Essay Contest where a panel of judges selects a first-place winner. One scholarship of $2,500 per District (funded by the Optimist International Foundation) is awarded each year by Optimist International. The international winner will receive an engraved plaque and recognition in The Optimist magazine.
